Location Based Advertising via Augmented Reality
Several weeks ago we had our first Augmented Reality Layer published on the iPhone, and Android platforms, this was a great opportunity for us to experiment with (LBA) Location Based Advertising. Our foray into LBA was based on plotting advertisers from a local online directory.
Lizt (lizt.com.au) is based in Sydney and is a fast growing online directory which specializes in giving an advertiser a point of difference, you can display a whole page of your wares on Lizt and modify id frequently.
There’s several types of advertisers on Lizt and we decided to tier the features they would have in the Layer dependant on the level of advertising they have taken on Lizt. Standard listings online received standard entry in the Layer. A platinum listing would receive bells and whistles in the layer, links to their phone number, video, audio, etc.
We’re in the process of releasing an update to Lizt’s layer which will include customer loyalty features, gift card abilities and some very cool treasure hunts which reward loyal customers.
